i have a Rockford Fosgate RFC1D 1 Farad Digital Capacitor

I have a 0/1 gauge amp wire kit. I think i can cut the power cable to do all the stuff but the ground wire is not big enough. Does it matter what gauge the ground wire is? can i use like an 8 gauge ground wire to connect my amp to the chasis does it really matter? should i use the 0/1 ground wire for the capacitor or the amp? help needed please

  1. i always use the same gauge wire for your ground as you did for your power wire, (it can be a little thinner (one gauge lower) because its not as long but you will notice a difference)

  2. you should match your wire sizes. but like before as long as it is a clean mount then there shouldnt be a problem as long as the wire isnt tiny. you shouldn't go any smaller than recomended for the amp

  3. size is not as important as the quality of the ground. you want a good clean surface and make sure it is a chassis ground. seat mounting bolts or body mounting bolts would be a good place to start.
