Will fares on short trips (say Anaheim to Downtown L.A.) be comparable to Metrolink fares?

Will they offer monthly passes?

  1. There's no way to know at this point.

  2. Obviously, they will make everything easier to their customer. So they probably will have weekly and monthly passes, something similar to the EZTransit pass provided by Metro.

It will be probably a lil bit expensive than Metrolink because of the technology used on those trains will need more money to its maintenance... Also, it will be more expensive because this rail system will be open in a couple years, not right away, so fares will have increased at this time.

Again, I'm just using common sense to answer your question, it's not 100% sure it will be like this.

  3. I don't think they've gotten that far yet.  I'm guessing they will take the low-fare/high-ridership approach rather than the high-fare/low-ridership approach.

  4. Currently, Cal HSPR is estimating that the cost would be roughly ONE dollar more than Metrolink using this link: http://www.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov/map.ht...

Interestingly... the trip from San Francisco to LA would be about $55.

I am SURE that they will consider monthly passes.  Check with the previous link or this one to give your input: http://www.calhighspeedrail.org/

Though I would LIKE to see the High-Speed Rail do the LONG trips and keep Metrolink, CalTrain, and ACE serving the regional / commuter trips
