Farloe Gambit tipped to win The Hall Green Bags Maiden Stayers
Farloe Gambit is likely to be triumphant in The Hall Green Bags Maiden Stayers at Hall Green in England on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. The Grade OR winner will be given a cash prize of £175.
The stamina of all runners will be put to test today, as the overall distance to cover will be 645 metres. A total of six quality hounds will be fighting for victory and the action will start at 12:18 GMT.
Most of the runners lack experience in this class, which will make things quite interesting in the end. The spectators will definitely enjoy the situation, but it will be tough for the punters to decide whether who has the edge over the other.
Judging by the performances of all hounds in lower classes, it appears that Farloe Gambit will be a top contender for victory. He has got some useful experience and has been doing well at different venues, which will boost his confidence.
The K. Billingham’s trainee took part in a Grade OR event recently, but was unable to make an impression back then. He was priced 9 to 4 by the bookmakers and was expected to give a tough time to the front runners. However, he lacked the stamina to challenge
his rivals and ended up in a disappointing fifth place.
This was not the first time when Farloe Gambit appeared in this class, as he has participated in a few more of such events. However, his performances have not been up to the mark, which is a touch disappointing for his team.
Despite all that, there is a solid chance for the black and white dog to turn things around, as most of his rivals are in a similar position like him. He debuted back in April 2011 and started off with a few trial runs. He was promoted to the highest level
straight away, but struggled to shine.
The promising runner brought up his maiden win in a Grade A2 event at Monmore, where he was given a starting price of 5 to 2. Despite starting slowly back then, he displayed extremely good stamina and speed towards the end of the race, winning it by one
length.
A similar run would be required from Farloe Gambit to take the top spot at Hall Green today.
