More people get killed by horses in Colorado than any other species of livestock.   Over the last 10 years, Colorado reported 19 deaths due to horses, four due to cattle and one due to sheep.

A farmer was trampled to death under the hoofs of his cow because he was blocking the animal as it was rushing to mate with an ox, the City Evening News in Northeast China’s Jilin Province reported today.

Last year, a ram charged a pair of farmers in the Southern Highlands, striking one of the men dead and wounding the other. At least one other farmer has been killed by a sheep in recent years, says Kirrily Pollock, manager of The National Farm Injury Data Centre. "In our last fatality study we also recorded two human fatalities caused by cattle and 21 fatalities caused by horses."

She's not so sure that farm animals deserve a reputation as killers. "By far the most fatalities were due to operating machinery like tractors or accidents on bikes or utes."
