Question:

Farm windmills? Source of energy for households?

Farmers have been using windmills to pump water for centuries. Why has no one come up with an idea of using these windmills to provide power (and to reload rechargeable batteries) especially in rural areas. Or in small towns, with electricity as a back-up?

  2. Yes it has been done. I was at a lodge near Douglas a few weeks ago and saw this strange windmill made from plastic. I was told it is a wind turbine. It charges batteries and then it can be used later. My dad was also project manager on the Bahrain World Trade Centre that has 3 turbines to produce electricity for the twin towers. http://www.bahrainwtc.com/

  3. Windmills have been used for generations to provide power. The problem is that they do not really produce a useful amount of electricity. They are pretty much limited to charging batteries or similar applications.
