Farmers Insurance partners with Hendrick Motorsports to put No.25 in All-Star Race – NASCAR News
Farmers Insurance has partnered with Hendrick Motorsports as the primary sponsor of Mark Martin’s Chevrolet for five races in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, with the plan to field a special “throwback” paint scheme.
Hendrick Motorsports announced on Tuesday that it has signed the contract with Farmers Insurance. The contract also includes special appearance of the No.25 car in the All-Star Race. The agreement details that the company will have primary placement in the
paint scheme for five race events and for the rest of the season it will be placed as an associate level sponsor.
The Los Angeles based company is making its come-back in NASCAR after two years as a sponsor. Earlier, they just sponsored one race in Fontana, California that was back in 2009. The group is a United States based company that deals in insurance and financial
services.
“This partnership makes a lot of sense for Farmers,” said Paul Patsis, the President of enterprise marketing for Farmers Insurance. “NASCAR fans are among the sports worlds’ most loyal and passionate.”
Martin will drive a specially painted No.25 in the All-Star Race, while for rest of the four races he will drive his same No.05 car. Farmers Insurance has planned to launch their sponsorship program at the All-Star Race with the appearance of the No.25 car.
The will bear the same red paint scheme that it had for the first time in 1986 for Hendrick Motorsports.
"It's cool to do something, especially for me, that bring back a little bit of our history," Martin said on Tuesday. "When I was trying to get my feet under me, that car was out there."
Rick Hendrick, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports, acknowledged that company’s strong values and customer, he was exited for this new partnership and said, “When you have a partner that’s essentially new to the sport, kicking off a program with a nod to the
past is a unique approach.”
The No.25 first came on the track, when Tim Richmond was fielding it with the support of crew chief Harry Hyde for Hendrick Motorsports. The car actually belongs to Hendrick’s late father, which means it has a special place for Hendrick Motorsports.
The 52-year old Martin is currently competing at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for point. He is currently at the 14th place on the season’s standings table after competing in all eight races. He has some close finishes so far, but could not win
any for this season.
Hendrick Motorsports is the most dominant team in NASCAR that has their four cars competing in the Sprint Cup Series. They have the most talented stock car drivers under contract including five-time defending champion Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Dale
Earnhardt Jr.
