  1. In the early 1990's agricultural chemists developed techniques to stabilize plant growth hormones(PGH). Adding small amounts of PGH with foliar nutrients further improved plant response compared to applying foliar PGH or foliar nutrients alone. Consider the definition of a plant growth hormone-biostimulant: "a biostimulant is an organic material, that, when applied in small quantities, enhances plant growth and development such that the response cannot be attributed to application of traditional plant nutrients."

    Four berries are among the top 10 fruits and vegetables highest in antioxidants, according to USDA's 1999 analysis of over 40 fruits and vegetables. The top 10 are: blueberries, blackberries, kale, strawberries, spinach, raspberries, brussel sprouts, plums, prunes and raisins. An exciting area for further research: can applications of plant growth hormone biostimulants such as cytokinin applied with foliar nutrient programs also increase antioxidant levels of the berries, vegetables and tree fruit that we consume, to further improve both plant and human health?

  2. For many years now  some Dairy farmers have been giving their cows the hormone RBGH to make them give more milk.  That is a different debate from the crops which are being genetically modified so that some farmers can spray chemicals on their fields and not worry about the chemical hitting the crop plants.  These chemicals are intended to kill the weeds and leave the crop plant behind and supposedly healthy.

    There is a lot of debate about hormones, chemicals, and genetically modified foods.

    Such problems that have been blamed on all three are;

    pre-maturity of young girls bodies

    increased incidents of cancer

    increased incidents of allergies

    increased sensitivities of all kinds

    Some of these claims may be true but no one knows because the people who are making the money don't want any testing done because they fear the truth.

    And people who want to know the truth don't have the money to do independant studies.
