How do you differentiate between a male sheep and a female sheep based on their outer appearances only, and what are the differences in their internal organs? Thank you.

  1. You already got acurate answers from the other two posters.  I ony have one thing to add...if the sheep is too wooly to see if it has testicals, or an udder, then just watch them, untill they pee.

Male sheep will urinate from about the middle part, under their stomach.  Female sheep will squat to pee, much as a female dog does.

  2. The males have testicles - easy to see.

Some breeds have hornless females and impressive horns on males.  Some breeds are completely hornless; some breeds have horns on males and females.

Females have a uterus (that's inside the animal)

    Males are larger in size

  3. tim_ume,  How old are you? Your avatar of teddy bears (as well as the way you asked this question) makes me think you may be very young. The easiest way to tell the difference is to look under their tails.  As my boys like to call out when we are catching lambs to work on them, "It's a one holer ( male) or a two holer (female)".  Males do have a s*****m, but if they are very young or castrated, it won't be obvious. The p***s is covered by a sheath under the belly and doesn't show especially on castrated males.  Their internal s*x organs are the same as a human.
