Hi,

I'm trying to write a story about a family that lives on a farm (preferably with livestock; cattle, horse, poultry, etc.) but was wondering if this type of farming is possible in cold climates. Winter is key to the story so I'm not sure where I can set the story for it to be realistic. Ideally I would like there to be snow in the winter, mountains, valleys and water. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

  1. CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I would use sheep farming if it is set in northern US or Canada. Sheep are thin footed and have thick coats which protect them from the cold climate and they can withstand steep landscapes.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Pennsylvania, Vermont, Maine.

  4. check out british columbia canada, the okanagan valley. they have everything on your list.
