Question:

Fartlek and jump roping?

I know what a fartlek is and all in fact I do it sometimes to simulate a 10k, but I don't really know what its supposed to help?

Also does jump roping help endurance, as I do this as much as possible?

  1. Fartleks are awesome for building endurance, it was developed in Sweden to help the swedish Cross-country team beat finland. It works our your aerobic, and anerobic systems to help you become more efficient at running longer distances.

    Jump roping won't really help your endurance all to much but it helps to build your fast twitch muscles (boxers jump rope a lot to get lighter faster reflexes in their lower legs) it is a great general strength excersise as well so go ahead and do it as much as you like. Have fun

  3. jump roping mostly helps leg strength and not endurance. a fartlek is to get your heart beating faster then slow down and so on..it helps endurance. i dont know how, it just does
