  1. Ummm it's a conditional 4th round pick.  It depnds how much Brett plays, which is going to be almost all the snaps unless he gets injured.  I believe it will probably be more like a 2nd or 3rd.  I heard its a 1st if the Jets go to the Super Bowl lol. But yeah,it is still a pretty good trade because the Jets now can contend for the playoffs.  Favre might not just play 1 season too. In fact if it is only 1,the Jets get a 5th round pick from the Packers.

  2. It's a conditional draft pick. So if he plays every game (Which he probably will) it will turn into a third round pick, or second if they reach the playoffs

  3. No, its starts as a 4th rounder but it could increase depending if Favre takes the majority of the QB snaps and the Jet's success. If the Jets make it to the superobwl (highly doubt), Packers get a 1st rounder.

  4. it's a conditional pick, not nessecarily a 4th rounder.

» If Favre takes 50 percent of snaps this season, the Packers get a third-round pick. At 70 percent of snaps and if the Jets qualify for the playoffs, Packers receive a second-rounder. If Favre takes 80 percent of snaps and Jets make the Super Bowl, Packers receive first-rounder.

» If Favre retires after one year and Packers get Jets' first-round pick, Packers would send Jets a fifth-rounder in 2010. Additionally, Favre must play in at least 50 percent of one playoff game for Packers to get that compensation. If Packers get second-rounder, Jets would get back sixth-rounder in 2010. If Packers get Jets' third-rounder, Jets would get seventh-rounder in 2010.

» The "poison pill" scenario: If Favre is traded to any team in NFC North, Jets would surrender three first-rounders to Green Bay. Trade also includes provisions preventing trade to another team if that new team were to trade him to NFC North.

» Favre's contract remains $12 million in base salary for this season.

  5. Before the Favre trade the Jets were not a playoff team.  They did make some offseason moves that helped the team, improvements to the offensive and defensive lines.  However, they weren't going anywhere with Chad or Clemens at QB.  Brett gives them what they really needed, a solid QB.  They've got solid enough receivers and a good enough running back.  The Jets could very well be a playoff team now.  I think it's a great move.

  6. please as if the packers wanted him

now the jets have to give up another huge contract

brett is too old he wont help them

  7. Well, not a bad deal I suppose, but Favre is coming to the end of his career, I think. We'll have to wait and see who the Packers draft.

  8. I suggest seeing a doctor, as that may have been the steal of the century.

Oh wait, that was when Ron Wolfe picked up Brett from Atlanta for next to nothing...

  9. Jumping out with a conclusion that Brett is too old to play is stupid, give him the benefit of the doubt and let him show you what he can do this season and then we will truly see if it was a good bargain.

  10. What you don't know is that if the Jets make the Super Bowl, the Jets will have to give up a 1st round pick.  I really don't see that happening.

  11. no...

the jets really need help, bad and Favre will give it to them

yet as good as brett even he can't get a team that bad into the playoffs
