my fasfa state deadline was may 1rst. they sent me a notice I had to make corrections before it But I made the corrections afterwards. Is my fasfa still in process? Will I still be eligible for aid. it says corrections are up to sept something but I am worried because I have corrected couple of times and have not gotten changed in my sar report. Does it take long for them to check mistakes or process. Im always having problems with 3 questions on the fasfa even though I filled the missing info the info i did put is correct.

  1. If you are having this many issues with your FAFSA and making corrections  you really need to visit your financial aid office, show them what you are trying to do.  They can help you, even make the corrections for you if you request them to.  It is going to be easier than doing what you are doing being confused and constantly making changes.  You may be changing things that are not even wrong at this point and making the matter worse.

Any change you make is going to take them (FAFSA) up to 3 days to change it and for it to register.  You have to give it time.  As for making your state deadline, usually your initial FAFSA only has to be on time, but if there are other deadlines your Aid office can help you in determining this information.

  2. You may be trying to correct an item that can't be changed.  One item  you can't correct is your social security number, another is your marital status.  I would contact your school's financial aid office and have them help you.  They can make corrections through their office.
