Question:

Fashion help - strapless vs. spaghetti straps and fit?

I bought a strapless dress and had spaghetti straps added. At first the tailor said that the waist was too big. But after I asked her to add spaghetti straps she said I should not have the waist taken in after all because that was only necessary if it was strapless. Is it true that a dress with straps doesn't need to have a tight waist like strapless? This is my wedding dress, so I really want it t fit right!

  1. It would make sense that the waist need not be fitted if the dress had straps to hold it up - a strapless dress would need to be fitted to prevent slippage!!

However, this is YOUR day and YOUR dress, if you personally want your dress fitted then stand up for yourself and do it !!

My opinion would be that with straps or without, you would want your dress to be a perfect fit.  Nip that waist!!  Show it off while you have it, lol!!

Congrats and best wishes for the big day!!

  2. keep it tight and wear a corset

  3. i would get it taken in - or else it might look like a sack
