Question:

Fashion journalism MA or Magazine journalism MA?

I've got a degree in English, and I'm currently doing a MA in creative writing. I really want to be a fashion journalist some day but I know it'll be a hard job to get.

I'm considering doing another MA in the line of journalism in a year or so. I worry that the fashion one might be too focused whereas magazine journalism would teach me more skills and may give me more job options.

Should I do it in fashion journalism or magazine journalism?

(I went to career's adviser last year, she was no help)

Anybody had to make a similar choice?

  1. Magazine journalism.

Not only will you be taught how to write general magazine articles (features, which you probably already know how to do), you will get your foot in the door on this one.

Fashion journalism is just a beat, it can be a paper or magazine or broadcast/radio.  I would get the magazine journalism one.

  2. Hassle some current journalists for advice.
