Question:

Fashionistas, I need your help with shoes!?

I'm in a wedding in December and I need help deciding what kind of shoes to wear.

The length of our dresses is to the ground, so shoes won't really be seen. It is a white top with red beading and a cherry red floor-length skirt. The bride doesn't care what we wear underneath, but I still want something decent. I'd rather it be something closed in because it's December and will probably be cold and snowy.

Would some kind of boots be okay? White or black?

Please give me some opinions and ideas...and pictures!

  1. Check out zappos.com!  They have a HUGE selection!

  2. I wouldn't pick boots, but if you are going to be outside a lot then I guess you could. For weddings I would usually pick a flat so you can dance up a storm without getting sore feet. Maybe a cute ballerina flat.

  3. Black for sure would be the color to go with, and depending on your style, you can go for somewhat fun and funky like Mary Janes with a kick ;) I LOVE Hot Topic, they have the cutest shoes, that are comfortable with heels like this:

  4. I would wear boots until the time of the ceremony, then change into pumps for all indoor activities. I'd go for red shoes or black shoes with a dress like you describe (I think white shoes with a cherry red skirt is a tiny bit jarring).

You could get some sassy black Christian Louboutin pumps that have the red undersole - if you have the coin to spend on them. I've found them on sale on bluefly.com before. I love those shoes and they last forever.

  5. absolutely no boots.  there will end up being some picture of you sitting down and no one wants to see boots poking out from under your hem.  just get some black pumps or heels that aren't open toe and you can wear them again.

  6. maybe something closed toe and red to go with the skirt

a basic black pump you'd wear again

if you choose to do a white then get something in a leather type material.  Satin and dyable material will absorb moisture so if its wet out they wont be white for long

  7. I would wear a comfortable closed toe shoe with a low heel about 1 to 2 inches, and probably black or dark gray.  I'm sure that the bride is being flexible on your shoe style, but I don't think she had intended on anyone wearing boots.  Pick a shoe, and then confirm with the bride.

  8. I don't think boots will look at all good with something like that.  I would say some white flats.  You can even get mary-janes or some ballerina slipper inspired style shoes.  Something comfortable that will allow you to be on your feet for hours.  I wouldn't suggest heels unless you wear them on a regular basis.  I also wouldn't suggest red unless you can get the exact red of the skirt because the colors might clash.

  9. Here are two pairs of white boots that I have been wanting to buy: The first pair would be cute! They are  my favorites.

I don't know why you couldn't wear boots, go for it!
