Fast, cheap, economical, P-plate legal cars.

Question

I have a few in mind:

- 1994 Toyota MR2

- First gen Mazda Mx-5

- 1995 VW Golf Vr6

- 1986 Porsche 944

I would prefer manual, RWD or AWD layout, oviously no turbos due to p-plate restrictions in NSW.

Please give any suggestions of other cars, or comments about the ones i have listed. They are all in the sub - $12,000 price range.

Go with the Miata if you're using it just for fun. I you want to use it as a daily driver and want to do errands in it, go with the golf VR6 or Porsche 944. The VR6 is a fun engine and sounds beautiful, but it's FWD.

i'd give the porsche a miss.  parts would be pricey and possibly hard to find.   how about ummmmm...   non turbo skyline?  or does it have to be 4 cylinder?
