I just recently got a job in a fast food resturant, today was actually my first day. I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites that can help me get a better grasp on how to really be good at it. I'm 16 by the way.

  1. I typed "How to work in fast food" into my search engine and the first listing was an article on ehow.com. I don't know how to add links to answers, or I would, but it looks like a really good article. Some little tips from the article if you are unable to find it are :

    1. Take pride in your work. You are providing a valuable service to your community.

    2. Wear comfortable shoes. Choose your shoes carefully. Black is probably the best since it won't show dirt as well.

3.Smile a lot. Greet customer warmly.  Use "Please" and "Thank You". Do this with co-workers as well.

    4. Focus. Listen well and double check orders. Work quickly and energetically.

    5. Go to work well groomed. Always  look clean, neat, and professional.

Pretty good article. I didn't know there was anything out there like that.  I've worked several different fast food jobs and the best thing that I can suggest is that you pay attention to everything. Watch how others do things. It's a good way to pick things up. Try not to get frustrated. In fast food, it's easy.  Ask questions. It's better to ask than to make a bad mistake.  Try to have fun. Yes, it's work, but if you are happy, it makes everything easier.

Congrats on your new job and good luck!

  2. Good for you for wanting to be the best at what you do whatever it is.  I don't know of any websites, but it seems to me the best source of information is going to be your manager and coworkers.  Try communicating with them more and let your personality shine through.  Your ambition is already obvious!!
