Fast Swith User Accounts in XP?

Question

I have XP and when I go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way useres log on or log off

I check the enable Fast Switching and click apply changes.

I then go the start menu and the log off option isn't available. So I go back to were I started and the Fast Switching box is unchecked again.

Can anyone help?!
