what can a fast food chain do to promote health and be healthier

They should have a healthier but still tasty food selection. Also, make foods not-so-pricey.  I always go for the cheap stuff. Maybe have contest in which the prize is something to benefit a good cause, or to get people active, like a bike, or many to build a new playground.........

Yep BAN all transfats, ensure all meat products are produced from top quality meat that is tracable to source. Ensure salads are FRESH, not prepacked and prepared in a factory somewhere. Use salad that has been washed in pure clean water not the stuff they use in factories (they use clorines stronger than you would find in a public swimming pool, but nasty food poisoning bugs are still present on your lettace leaf). Use locally produced foods. Ensure that any fats used to fry foods are changed daily, at the minimum.

use good oil and food should not be stale .... more of salad and roughage(like use bran )

add more of low cal food variety......... it must be tasty also

and tell people to eat healthy through some messages or quotations in the bills, walls, menu card, napkins..... try diifferent messages everyday

make sure the children they have working for them understand contamination and cross contamination and how to prevent them.  (for preventing food poisoning).

Make their food healthier by using fresher and more natural ingredients.

Using meat from not diseased animals would go a long way, and discontinuing the practice of adding tons of salt, sugar and fat to their products to make them taste better and be incredibly unhealthy, well, that almost goes without saying.  We all know how addictive the additives in fast food are.

Stop using oil full of trans fat. Offer salads, grilled chicken, drinks that are low calorie, and desserts.
