Fast ground a plus for Barren Brook in Skybet Supporting The Yorkshire Racing Festival Stakes
Lupin Pooter, the one to beat in Yorkshire.com Back Le Bid Stakes (Handicap)
Despite the fact that Barren Brook is not in the best of his form, the return to faster ground will help him improve in the class 2 Skybet Supporting The Yorkshire Racing Festival Stakes (Handicap), to be held at York on Friday, July 27th. According
to the schedule, the £11,450 meeting is due to get underway at 20:00 GMT.
Michael Easterby’s charge was triumphant twice last year, and did well on his seasonal debut at Doncaster in March. The 5-year-old seemed to retain all his abilities, when finishing seventh behind Brae Hill in the William Hill Lincoln (Heritage Handicap).
The son of Beat Hollow was terrible in his last appearance at this track, as he ended up 10th in the Ladbrokes.com Handicap. The conditions were too testing last time and thus, the punters should not judge him on his previous performance.
The main danger is Anderiego, who was a comfortable winner here last time. The David O'Meara-trained will make things messy for his opponents, but still Barren Brook cannot be overlook on York’s hard surface.
Yorkshire.com Back Le Bid Stakes is another exciting contest, scheduled to begin at 20:30 GMT. There are 14 quality runners in the class 4 event, but Lupin Pooter seems to have the best chance.
David Barron’s trainee made a very good impression on his last two starts, and has a very good chance of making improvement in a race of this nature. After ending up fourth at York, the 3-year-old put his campaign back on the winning track, and emerged as
victor respectively at Ayr and Newmarket.
After a couple of fantastic wins, the bay gelding is brimming with confidence, and it is very hard to ignore his chances for the first place. The main danger is Just Like Heaven, who is also in winning mood these days.
Making a great impact, the 3-year-old recently won a class 5 meeting at Southwell. Stepping up to this level will put him under a lot of pressure and therefore, it is good to stick with Lupin Pooter. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
