I live in NE Pennsylvania and just finished building my house. I have a partially wooded lot and do not want to part with any of my trees and DO NOT want to plant a grass lawn. What's a pretty and fast-growing ground cover to plant???? Thanks so much for your help and info. I appreciate it.

  1. try some of the creeping thymes, they have lovely blue flowers and when cut or walked on they smell wonderful. very hardy and quick growing.

  2. I love Vinca.  It is also known as Periwinkle.  It has beautiful dark green foiliage and, in the spring, periwinkle blue flowers.  It transplants easily.  I have it underneath my shrubs in the front of the house and sometimes it will grow out into the lawn.  I just dig up the pieces that are out on the lawn and set them int he ground wherever I want them and they grow like a charm.

  3. There are species of fast growing creepers.

Then you have Morning Glory Flower s-a partial ground creeper.

You also have -some fast growing creepers with variegated leaves
