Fast growing tree for backyard privacy???/?

We live in northern illinois and want a fast growing privacy tree in our backyard. Any suggestions? I do not like pine trees...

If you like hedges or shrubs, try a Forsythia or Burning Bush.

Bamboo grows like a weed.  It reaches heights of 12 - 16 feet and spreads.

the last thing i would do is plant bamboo , you will end up fighting that stuff so you don't have a jungle in your yard  ,its a nightmare . alot of nurseries have  a variety of trees you are looking for , i will leave  a few links below
