  1. youre probably this little bird's angel!! thats really sweet and all. . . but the best thing to do would be to take him(or her) to your nearest animal rescue center. give them a call and they will know exactly to do. . . since its their living haha.

    good luck!

  2. What kind of bird is it?

  3. are his feathers really fluffed up, to where he almost looks fuzzy? if so, a heat lamp wouldn't be a bad idea, just stick to a low wattage so as not to overheat. get some baby bird formula (exact is a good brand) and feed him a little bit with a syringe - if he will let you touch him, feel his chest just below the neck with your fingers, you should feel it cave in a little. that is the croup, where they store food. as you feed him, make sure you do not overfeed by contuially feeling the croup - it should get fuller but remain squishy - not hard at all. Otherwise, just let him rest in a quiet place, try to keep loud noises and sudden movement to a minimum

  4. Once the bird is dry and rested...follow these instructions:

If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly.   You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it.  If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest.  Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched.  If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival.  Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own.  Look for a rehab here:

  5. Well....

You need to dry him wiht the towel and you may use a blowdryer but not on high, on lowest speed and not too close to him. So you wont burn hiom by accident.

Depending on his age, if he has feathers and hops and can sit on your finger for the most part he can be released after he is dried off cpompleatly. You may feed him some fruits and veggies sliced in tiny bits. I have a couple that like watermelon and bananas A LOT. So give him some of that and then see if you see mom and dad around calling for him then let him go.

    BUT>>>

If he is soo young and doesnt seem as active, keep him for a whileYou can NOT release it back into the wild at this age. Only if itr can fly then you can and you will have to feed it cause it will come to you for safty. So you might as well keep it. It will be realy attached to you since its so young.

You need to go to the petstore and get some formula. Formula for all birds. Get one cup and fill it with 1 cup of formula and one cup of warm water( The little cup that came with formula). Mix it well and use a syringe to feed it. Dont do too much at a time or it may regergitate. DONT give it water. It will choke. There is the right amount of water in the formula needed. Dont feed it worms. They have bacteria that could hurt them, only mom can break it down. When they are fledgling which it sounds like it to me they can eat watermelon, mealworms(HEADS cut off or they will eat its insides), bananas, veggies, and seeds(wild bird seed). Unless it cant hopp or sit on your finger or have any feathers you can feed him formula and he other foods listed. If he is pecking at stuff when you hold it then he doesnt need syringe. Only a bird cup.

Keep him in a s****. or something of that effect. On a heating pad. Make a nest shape out of a washcloth towel and place a thin washcloth over it to keep the warmth inside. Put temp on low.

When it is able to hop around and sit on perches and stuff It needs a cage, perches, and feed/ water cups. The cage can be for a cockatiel, thats a fine sixe for it. Cut up all the foods listed and place them in the food dich and sprinkle seeds on the bottom of the cage and mealworms(With heads cut off) on the bottom, it teaches them how to foriege. You can even add a mirror. It keeps them intertained. Make sure that you keep the cage cleam with newspaper on the botom. The bird will be more happier. Place the cage near a window to calm him down as well.

When he can fly you can release him outside. As long as he can fly. He may come to you for food though. You could even keep him if you would like but get a bigger cage for him.

    Goodluck

  6. First thing to do is keep in quite dark warm place. Put him a makeshift nest use a cool whip bowl and put some tissues in it for warmth. Put the nest with him in it in a box in case he gets crazy so he does not fall out. Can use cage if not a baby bird. Put a heating pad set on low under cage or box. When he is less stressed out and calm and alert you can offer him food. Depending on how old he is you can offer mealworms that you get at a pet store, wild bird seed. If he is a baby you can offer him handfeeding formula you get at pet store. No water for now. The biggest thing is to let him calm down. Sounds like he is in a bit of shock. If he recovers and looks more alert and can fly you can let him go once he warms and recovers. Instead of a towel over his back I would just drape tissue over him. Towel little to heavy and can snag his nails on it and stress him more. If he does not seem well call a vet who takes injured wildlife or who can refer you to wildlife rehabber who will care for him until ready for release. Wont cost anything either place you take him. Thanks for saving this little thing. :)
