Question:

Fast leak in power steering on 1995 Pontiac Transport?

I was driving and turning a corner when I first heard the whining sound. It became increasingly more difficult to steer. When I pulled into the driveway, I could barely turn the wheel. The reservoir is empty and a puddle on the ground. I looked from above and underneath, but I cannot figure out where the leak is coming from. Does it sound like a line or something more serious?

  1. It sounds like you blew a hose if it happened that fast. You can fill the reservour up with fluid then start the van and look at the lines to see where the leak is.

  2. HI

Sounds like you blew a hose or the hose sprung a leak.. One of the hoses is just put on with worm gear clamps : the return side... But the perisher side is fitted with fittings and special hose and you would need a special wrench to remove it.. its called a flaring wrench, there are several different sizes so you would need to know what size you have.

    good luck

  3. probably need to take your 95 Pontiac Transport to an auto repair shop.  Unless you are very good at auto mechanics, just get help from the shop.  that way, you can't break something even more.  just call the repair shop.

  4. put more fluid in it and have some one else turn it back and forth so you can see where the leak is
