  1. Practice wide. What I mean by this is exaggerate your motions.  Throw normally tight punches wide, while training. A common mistake is to keep the arms against the body when speed training, because the distance is shorter for low punches. While this is the position for speed it only helps in a match. While training keeping your arms positioned further from the body adds weight to your muscles. This allows for tighter quicker punches when you throw the real deal. But this will only change speed slightly, and can even have a negative affect because it alters your fighting habits. However, you should remember that your arms aren't the only part of the punch. Putting your body behind the fist can add power, but it can also add speed. Try snapping your entire body into and away from the punch. Often the faster fighter has swung his arm at the same speed as the slower. But unlike the slower he has repositioned his body for the next punch. While the heavy hitter has only used his body for the power it can give. Good technique and stamina, also a trainer who knows the sport, can help you understand this concept. It won't make you faster than the other guy who is quick and knows how to move, but it will improve your speed considerably. Oh, and sand things. Seriously. Moving your hand as quick as you can while applying considerable downward pressure is a great way to give boost speed. And finally aim. most of the speed is lost in the mind, long before the punch is thrown. it may not seem like it, but even the best fighters second guess some punches. Will it land right? Even getting excited about the hit you landed before can cause the next one to be slow. Think only about where it will go, then put it there. Fast punches are crisp and don't waver.

  2. take off your gloves and throw quick punches at the bag in slaps. This is just for speed and timing. Do not worry about power just on how quick you can throw your hands. Also work on target mitts throwing with closed fist with gloves on and try to work on smooth punches that land. As you become more accurate then your speed will increase. Also continue to shadow box. Running also helps out because it is good cardio. Speed can be increased but remeber that not all of us are fast like Mayweather, Judah, and Mosley.

  3. go to a boxing gym and while training there ask how you can train to emphisise speed. when you practice being fast you will become faster. start using the speed bag more often

  4. Your trainers wont tell you??????? Maybe you should find a gym where they show you things. But if you cant find a competent trainer get familiar with the old fashioned speed bag, best ever for working on speed. Also put wrist weights on and shadow box. Punch up, Punch Strait, Punch down while running on spot holding onto 5 lb weights, once that gets to easy move to 10 lbs.

    Also get a new trainer

  5. mostly by practicing on a punchbag .... reducing your weight could also help ..... but people are usualy born a fast boxer or a power boxer ..... but u can change ur style slightly by focused traing and experience in the ring ...

  6. practice using the speed bag at your local boxing gym. also ask your instructor if he or she knows any drills that you can do to increase the speed of your hands.

  7. Speed is something you are born with when referring to that's of Roy Jones or Sugar Shane Mosely however there are techniques you can use to improve your speed and ACCURACY such as the (DOUBLE END BAG) this is excellent for proper training..... with this it teaches you to instinctively throw faster and more accurate shots.... practice jabbing and straight hand with 2lb-5lb weights the reason is gloves tend to weigh heavier after each round due to sweat build up and muscle fatigue...however practicing punching upwards will increase endurance as well as a slight speed...so when you opponant is tired you still punching sharper and it will give the impression of a faster puncher... also practice your foot work for reflex timeing  lateral movement bob and weave followed by a snap of 2-3 jabs after each movement it will teach your memory cells...(yes muscles have memory) to respond quicker to counter and help in quick twitch muscle to snap that jab out ther or that srtraight hand or hook depending on what punch you favor....but most importantly the JAB!!!!! when quickly snap out is the only offensive/defensive weapon and accuracy makes speed....no sense of throwing fast ineffective punches.................and lastly shadow box snapping shots out unexpectedly even when tired builds strength to help respond with SPEED

  8. spend a good amount of time on the speed bag, this will help you a good deal, but mostly will help your hand eye coordination.

but to improve your speed greatly try this, make sessions with the heavy bag with 90% of only flurries, and time yourself, start with a 30 second drill of one, two punch flurries make sure you last the whole 30 seconds. like 5 times in one session. then work up to 45 seconds the next week and 1 minute the week after that, you will start seeing that your speed has increased tremendousely by the end of the first month and you have built much, much more endurance as well. remember the heavy bag was not made predominantly for heavy punching, although many boxers are never taught that, and just wail on it continuosely, and only!! ultimately causing shoulder tissue damage in the long run.
