  1. Car?

    Bike?

    Rider?

    Driver?

    Track?

    Weather?

This "test" has been done so many times for telly and magazines its unreal!

What I always find funny is when the car programmes do it, the car wins and vice versa for the bike guys!

Bottom line is on a [ car ] track like Silverstone (UK) the car will win, given the right/wrong deals.

But you can take any car you want (Camparo's Atoms, you name it) to a [ bike ] track like Cadwell Park (UK) and a well sorted 250cc will beat everything.

  2. very interesting question, but I think that it would be close, but maybe the car.....

but it depends on what kind of bike and car.

  3. depends on the drivers, the distance of laps, the gas that will use, CAR has much gas to filled rather than Motorcycle, another thing is the course to be use, if this only a normal course then motorcycle will surely win, because of it's weight.

    For me Motorcycle

  4. Are we talking production bikes and cars or all out race machines?  I have seen a couple of demonstrations about this before.  The British show " Top Gear " did it a couple of yrs ago with ( I think it was these two ) Ducati 999 & an Lambo Merchilago ( hope I spelled that right ).  The bike won but it wasn't by much.  If you are talking racing machines it might be different. Take the 2 top formats:  F1 & Moto GP.  I think that we all can say that they are the pinical of both racing types.  In 2007 they both raced in China on the same circut.  For Moto Gp Rossi turned in a time of 1:58.424 for his pole position and Felipe Massa turned in a time of 1:35.938 for his pole position.  On the average you can tack on another second or so for actual race conditions and tires.  So if you are comaring all out types then the cars will take it.  Sure bikes can turn well and they are lighter but the F1 cars have incredible mechanical & aerodynamical grip.  The bikes just can't compete in those kinds of conditions.

  5. OK, You need more details in your question.

Assuming the the riders and drivers skills are equal.

What kind of car F1?, or we talking Ferrari type?

Second, Fastest or quickest motorcycle. Hayabusa excellent for going fast in straight line but will get DESTROYED  in the twisties by a 1100.

What kind of track. Oval or twisties.

OK so I ll create several scenarios for ya.

    1) Oval track

Production and street legal vehicles  either Hayabusa or the new Ninja vs the VW Brogatii production car?

CAR hands down can do 240+ MPH  Brute HP and wind resistance biggest factor.

Both motorcycle and car would be able to run nearly flat out on a high banked oval.

2)Twisty track. A GSXR 1100 would MOST LIKELY be the best Although a good 2 cylinder IE Duc or an apprilia, would also be good because of the low end torque.

The motorcycle would wins against a street legal car. But not by much.  Can out brake and accelerate 0-100 out of the car.....

The motorcycles weakness is it's lack of aerodynamics and actual traction.

Here are some side by side comps.

    http://www.superstreetbike.com/features/...

They are both modified but it goes to show a point.

Now  racing bikes vs say an F1  no restrictions not street legal........ Car wins both times. Bike just doesn't have enough traction.

  6. The Motorcycle will win.
