  1. I do not believe we need any form of immigration,  skilled .unskilled or anything else. Read the history of WW2, most men were in the Army and still we did well. The UK diet was BETTER in WW2 than today. We had then a 45 million population, now it is 62million and rising.

Massive population increase is a selfish trick and benefits only foreign immigrants  and international and domestic big business.

  2. Yes, we do. If the people here already cannot find work, how can the government possibly think it can convince us that more people should be allowed in to spend a week in work, get made redundant, and end up on benefits?

  3. It is the fact that people either cannot or do not want to work

Jory: I know that the majority of English are hard workers however the people I am talking about are the spongers who complain that they do not get enough dole money or can't find a job because they are so lazy and blame immigrants. I have never had a problem finding a job. If you want something so bad you should stop making excuses up and do it.

  4. YES, it is ludicrous to bring any more people in when our economy is stalling and about to go into reverse !!

  5. THIS COUNTRY NEEDS TO STOP ALL IMMIGRANTS BEING ALLOWED INTO THIS COUNTRY FULL STOP!!!

  6. New Labour increased the immigration Quota's from 50000 a year to 250000 a year, does this sound like a government that is trying to control immigration?

    Of course not.

The Dictator has done nothing to solve the problem of not being able to fill the lower paid jobs with our own people, in fact instead of trying to solve that problem, New Labour came up with the idea of ethnic cleansing instead Guess what? they have very nearly succeeded haven't they?

  7. Waste of time and effort, all the unskilled labour is going home.

Wake up and smell the coffee, unskilled workers have themselves to blame for never bothering to learn anything.

  8. Immigration from the East European countries has been the policy of this government from their first day in office. The reason is simple, they hope that these immigrants will vote Labour at the elections. Why else do they lavish benefits on these people?. Being of British origin nowadays is a dirty word.

  9. its not about unskilled immigration, just unskilled labor to begin with

  10. New Labour will simply continue to ruin our country...don't expect any common sense from such scum....Just expect violent crime to rocket.....it seems this is one of their policies and then expect more armed police on the streets....WE HAVE BEEN BADLY BETRAYED ....And the Tories started the rot!

Remember Thatcher sold the family silver and then Gordon gave away the family Gold!!!

  11. Now this is a sensible question, and in most part you will get a sensible answer, which is of course YES.

But if you ask someone from the government all you will get is waffle and spin about how good these supper-human foreign workers are, and how much they contribute to Britain's economy, about how c**p the British worker is and a load of this and a load that.

Well I once worked at a firm through a agency during the week that employed Eastern European workers from another agency at the weekend.

And all we Brits got told during the week was how much better workers they are, how much quicker workers they are, you could even see the scorch marks on the back of their jeans from where the sun shines out of their ****'s, that's how good they were.

Until bad work started to be sent back, basically they packed anything without a care in the World, but guess who had to sort it, you've got it us Brits.

  12. It is already restricted for non-EU nationals.  I think it's restricted for some of the more recent EU states (post Poland obviously).

I don't think draconian measures are needed, as we are already looking like a poor bet for unskilled labour.

The tide has turned, any attempt to hold it back will be like king Canute- when the tide was going out.

What we really need is efforts from industry, government and individuals to turn our unskilled workers into useful adaptable inteligent people, so that when the world wid ecconomic storm abates, they won't be stuck on the bottom rung of society and better still won't be content to be stuck there, blaming others for their lot.

  13. Restrict unskilled immigration no, stop unskilled immigration most certainly Croc

  14. Restricting ALL immigration would benefit the U.K. greatly !

  15. I you want unskilled work, just say your name is Ahmed or Abdullah and you will get hired.  My Canadian friend did that when he moved to London. He couldnt get a job, so he pretended to be a Muslim and suddenly finding a job wasnt a problem

  16. What a coincidence - the US just hit the highest unemployment in years - and they aren't even calculating it correctly!

  17. Yes it does. If an unskilled immigrant worker is prepared to work for less wages, and we all know many do, then why would an employer hire an indigenous worker?

All this situation has done is to drive down wages in the unskilled sector, very good for the employer but it reduces the incentive and feasibility for benefit claimants to find work.

  18. jory  . you said it all.

and LPW too. can we stop allowing ourselves to be shot down in flames please? we work hard. i work hard. my husband works hard and he is very  very worried about immigrants taking his work. we need to stand up and fight for our jobs, our rights and also our right to a reasonable income from our labours.

  19. No............... It needs to STOP ALL IMMIGRATION AND ECONOMIC MIGRATION !!

  20. Fluflu, an EU survey yesterday, revealed that in fact UK workers are the third hardest working in Europe bar the Bulgarians and the Romanians.

I, for one am sick and tired of British workers being falsely labelled as lazy. We do our work well, we are among the most highly taxed, most closely watched and least protected workforces in Europe.

We have accepted hundreds of thousands of foreign workers, all of whom compete with us for jobs, houses and services. We give handouts which are quickly gathered and sent abroad and receive little thanks for all of the above. In fact in some quarters we are soundly ridiculed for it.

When it comes to training the British workforce, I can point out from personal experience that the training courses are also open to foreign workers.

Perhaps a little circumspection is in order.
