greyhound should win over short distance on the lure every time dog win before horse get chance to really strech out dog run 300m in 18-19 seconds

this question was here last year and I really thought the answer would be horse, but I looked up the top speeds for horses and dogs and found out that the fastest dog would win.  I was surprised.  I thought that the horse being bigger with longer legs would easily win, but apparently not.

dog is more agile, dog will win. horse will get confused in the dog race track.

If it is a quarter horse, then I would say the horse. Because the quarter horsei is one of the fastest animals over a quarter of a mile. The downside would be if the turns are to tight, then the horse would be going to fast around the turn to take it cleanly.

the horse will not handle the corners....he's too big to get around at a fast clip...now if it was a straight course....a good horse can run a quarter mile in 22 seconds...greyhounds are just a bit slower

Hmm now thats a question... How longs the short course.. say 800-1000metres i'd have to go the horse... dog may get away early and have more power to weight ratio but i just think a horse can our run a dog... but i may be bias... be a good race to watch i'd recon...
