  1. The world record is currently 63 MPH and that was on specialized skates (not consumer gear) with a downhill suit.

    The record was set by Douglas Lucht, the inventor of StreetSki brand inline skates.

    Was the tour points champion for the 1998 Downhill Skate Series.

    Took dual third place finishes at the St. George Grand Prix downhill skate competition, in April of 1999.

    Appeared in numerous magazines, including Ski Magazine, Inline Magazine, Men's Journal, Outside Magazine, Skiing Magazine, Stuff Magazine and a two page spread in Greek Fun in Action Magazine. Doug was also featured in Momentum Magazine, in the Spring of 2003. In 2007, StreetSki had a three page spread in a Bulgarian ski magazine.

    Was featured on national television, including Speed Demons on The Learning Channel, Action TV on the Fox Family Channel, Cool Tech on the Sci-Fi Channel and the USA Network. In September of 2001,
