Fastest way to get rid of ants in my room?

ive got company coming soon and my room is full of ants!

I just took out all of the food in my room today. but how can I make sure that they dont come back the second that i have something else out?

Clean and vaccum real well.  And wipe down the walls and windows with vinegar.  The vinegar covers the scent of anything you may have missed and is safe to use if you have pets.

I had ants in my bathroom and cabinets when I moved into my place.  I cleaned up with vinegar, and I haven't seen one since, and I have lived there for almost 10 years.

If you can get to the store, then pick up some Ortho home defense max spray - it works really well.  You just spray it around the perimiter of the room and it kills any bugs that are there and creates a barrier to prevent new ants from coming around.  You can get it at wal-mart, lowes, home depot, etc.  If you can't get to the store, then I don't know, but luckily ants don't bother people that much, so even if they see some they probably won't be that creeped out.

use boric acid (comes in a white powder form) along walls and windows or wherever you saw them to form a barrier. This should not be used around kids or pets so maybe you can get some ant bait traps and put into corners. I'd rather have ants than roaches! lol

Sprinkle baby powder where you see the ants come in or around your baseboards etc.  It is safe and non toxic to humans but deadly for ants.

the ants wont hang around if theres nothing attracting them i.e. food, so if you keep food out of your room and vacuum, you shouldnt see them.
