Hi ok so I am a varsity softball player for my highschool I am a sophmore. I also play in an asa league U16. I am just wondering which bat would be better for me to get the worth mayhem or the Louisville Zephyr. They are both very similar but i think i should go higher than a 20 oz bat and mayhem doesnt go higher than that but the Zephyr does. I will give links to both bats and can I please have your opinion on which bat is better or which bad should i consider getting? Thanks!

  1. You shouldn't get either. Get a Demarini, Rockettech. If you can afford it. Then at least go with the Louisville. Because Worth aren't worth it. Haha. Get it?

    (:

  2. you should definitely go higher than a 20 ounce bat!

i've played ASA/NSA/USSSA/Pony/USFA softball from 12u all the way until 18u and you need at least a 22 ounce bat.

depending on your height and weight, i would go no less than 32 inches/22 ounces. if you are a semi-strong girl, i strongly and highly reccomend a 33 inch and 23 or 24 ounce bat.

trust me, you think "oh a 20 ounce bat... i'm sure to get around on the ball!"

but the truth is, its too light... way too light.

and as for the bat selection... it really is in the price and the name.

mayhem's are semi-expensive but also semi unheard of. and i didn't even know a zephyr existed...

i strongly reccommend the newest easton stealth or a new louisville catalyst. anderson rockettechs are also an amazing bat with some serious high quality pop on the ball but aren't very good for the short game...

go with whatever feels right for you, but i have a lot of experience and those are my opinions...

  3. I'm a going to be a freshman in the fall and currently play on a U14 travel team. I think you definitely need a bat that's heavier than 20 oz. I normally use a 23 oz. bat and when it's a slower pitcher, I move up to a 24 oz. I think if you're comfortable swinging it, you should go with the heaviest bat you can. If you can make good contact, the ball will go farther with a heavier bat.

This is a link for the bat I normally use:  http://www.nextag.com/Easton-2008-Synerg...

Out of the two you're looking at, I'd go with the Zephyr.
