  1. Well my daughter plays competitive fast pitch, so I'm partial of course.  But if the thought is that baseball is harder, check out the link below and then maybe re-think it.

  2. Personally I enjoy baseball  more. :] I think baseball is harder but I never played fast pitch so Idk from experience.

  3. I'm a baseball fan, but softball is so incredibly fun! Yes, in some very real ways fast pitch softball is harder. The mound is a lot closer and good pitchers can actually match major-league pitchers' speeds. Also, as everyone knows, you can mash the softball with a swing that would make Babe Ruth flinch and the ball dribbles like a basketball to an infielder. As well, you can't lead off from a base. So, yeah, both are tough. But both are real fun, too.

  4. Actually, I'd say they're equal in toughness to play. But it is VERY underrated and I hate how it is considered "a sissy's sport". It's just as hard a baseball.

  5. I think it depends on your point-of-view. I think that baseball is slightly harder than softball because a baseball is half the size of a softball, but then again, a softball mound is much closer to the plate, meaning less reaction time. Both pitches come in at around 90mph. Defensively, baseball is probably harder. A baseball field can be twice as deep as a softball field, which means outfielders have much, much more ground to cover and usually baseballs can be hit much harder than softballs, because softballs are larger, but lighter for their size. Offensively, the hardest thing in sports is to hit a major league fastball. In baseball, especially in the pros and minors, pitchers have a much greater advantage over softball pitchers. Baseball pitchers have the ability to grip the ball any way possible, and change the trajectory of the ball to the plate. In softball, the ball is extremely difficult to grasp, especially if you have small hands, and the under-hand motion does not allow for different spins on the ball, making it not shift or sink during the pitch. I think baseball and softball have different ways of being more difficult, however, overall, i think baseball is more difficult for the above reasons.
