  1. Well, when my brother was in nursery, he put together a really cute card for my mom for mother's day, you could probably do it for father's day too, although now that I think about it, it seems more like a mothers day thing....but if you don't want to use it for father's day, remeber it and maybe do it on mother's day next year.

He took 2 pieces of 8 x 11" faded looking cardstock, and cut a rectangle about 4 x 5" on the first one.  His teacher took a picture of him with a blue background that fades to white in the center, and postioned him holding his arms wide (In a 'this is how much I love you' postion).  That picture is smaller and cut in a fancy design (with those design scissors) and placed it in the center of the non-cut paper.  Then she had them paint the piece of cardstock that was cut, and glue pearls and a seashell that they painted onto it.  Then that goes over the cardstock with his picture on it, and acts as a picture frame.  After that they glued a pearl onto his hand in the picture, and glued onto the bottom of picture is "You're My Treasured Pearl!  I love you.  Happy Mother's Day 2000!" printed on a piece of lavendar cardstock.  On top is two holes with ribbon coming out to serve as a hanger.  It came out really cute and has been hanging in our kitchen ever since.

  2. You can use any of these poems printed in the center of a piece of paper. Let your kids finger paint there hand prints on both sides of the poem

    Fingerprints & Handprints

    Fingerprints

    My dirty little fingerprints

    I've left on every wall,

And on the drawers and table tops,

    I've really marked them all.

But here is one that won't rub off,

    I'm giving it to you,

Because I'm thankful for a (mother or father) just like you!

    Fingerprints

    Sometimes you get discouraged

    Because I am so small,

    And always leave my fingerprints

    On furniture and walls.

    But everyday I am growing,

    -I'll be grown up someday,

    And all these tiny handprints

    Will simply fade away.

    So here's a final handprint

    Just so you can recall,

    Exactly how my fingers looked

    When I was very small.

    I love you!

    A Reminder

    This is to remind you

When I have grown so tall,

That once I was quite little

And my hands were very small.

    Handprint

    Here is my hand

    So tiny, so small

    to hang somewhere

    upon your wall.

    This is my hand.

    My hand will do

A 1000 loving things for you

    And you will remember

    When I am tall...

    That once my hand

    Was just this small.

    This is the hand

    You used to hold

    When I was only

    __ years old.

    My Hand

    I give my hand

    to you this day!

    Remember me now,

    as I grow and play!

I used my thumb and fingers too

To make this flower just for you.

It doesn't smell, it doesn't grow.

    It's from me to let you know;

    Love you (Mom or Dad)?

    Love you not?

    Love you, (Mom or Dad)!

    Love you a lot!

    Tiny Handprints

    Tiny handprints grow so fast

Their awkward groping soon will clasp

    A ball, a book, a sweetheart's hand

    A diploma, breifcase, wedding band.

    Tiny handprints grow so strong

It doesn't take them very long

To snap a shirt, to paint, to draw

To labor hard, to drive a car.

    Tiny handprints grow to be

A person that is quite unique

A wonderful mix of so many things

With his own feelings, thoughts and dreams...

    Here my handprints are done

    For everyone to view

    I had so much fun

    Doing this for you.

So look upon this handprint plaque

    Hanging on your wall,

    And memories will come back

Of me when I was small.

  3. Stickers on dollar store frames?  A painted rock paper weight?

A painted block of wood with their poloroid photo glued on it, saying "chip off the ol' block"? That's what my son made for fathers day in pre-school.  Really easy just have them stick the picture on with some stick glue.

    Good luck with it!

  4. I'm a big baseball fan, and my son gave me a baseball with his handprint (using finger paint) on it when he was 2 years old.  I bought a case for it and have it on my desk at work.

This one costs only little bit.  You can find cheap baseballs at Walmart for about $1 each.

  5. I teach two year olds.  Each child in my class is putting a footprint on a piece of tile(floor tile)using paint and then gluing part of a poem that I found about fathers walking a little slower because the child is following the father's footsteps..

  6. My son is making his dad a window hanger, use a sheet of contact paper take only half of the paper backing off, use colored tissue paper to decorate it take the other half of the backing off fold together, ask if they want a special shape or saying on it then staple a piece of yarn to hang it with.

Popsicle picture frame are nice, a small what I like about daddy book ( 5-10 pages) on construction paper is great, they get to color the pages and cover, you write the words and staple it together.

His daddy's favorite from last year was a pen that was wrapped in yarn and then painted by our son.

    Good luck.

  7. hmmmn...i think, even a simple father's day card will do..
