  1. My husband has a daughter in another state and this is what his visitation is 1. He gets her 1 weekend per month (we have to let her know by the 20th of the previous month) 2. 1 week at Christmas beginning the day after Christmas 3. 2 weeks in the summer and holidays rotate every year with the exception of Christmas as her mother gets her. We try to make it back every month. When we bring her down here we go there get her, fly back with her and then my husband flys her back. Some of his friends have it court ordered that the ex-wife has to meet half way with the child. Hope this helps.

  2. Custody, visitation and child support are all covered by the civilian courts, not the military.  If you don't have any binding legal paperwork (either a registered agreement or a court order) then all three of those are based on whatever the two of you work out between you.  If you do have the legal paperwork then all three of those are covered by that agreement.

Generally, though, if you have a legal order requiring you to send your son to visit his dad you have no say over who is there at the same time unless you can prove that the person is a danger to your child.  So if you have to send your son it will be his dad's say about whether his girlfriend is there or not.

  3. Bamma say very clear question. Bamma say right to the point. Bamma say visitation be like seeing stranger. Bamma say baby go who are you. Bamma say marry soldier and move to family base housing. Bamma give clear answer. Bamma otta know.

  4. It would suck that's how it would be.

  5. if he's left no forwarding info then just leave it alone for now. But remember, if you are going to restrict him on who he can have yours (and his) son around then be prepared for him to tell you who you cannot have around the child.

  6. when you are old enough like 12 you can say you want to live with him then he has to provide living for you--call him up, tell him you need him you miss him-good luck, otherwise tell your mom to arrange his visits

  7. This would not be a military issue unless there is a court order for him to pay child support and he is not paying.

This would be a civilian court issue and the visitation would be based on what the court said would happen.  If you are having issues with him now I would make sure that the visitation is very detailed, like down to who has to pay for the child to go from your home to his, and whatnot.

How old is the child?  It's sad when a parent wont parent, but that why we call them deadbeats.  My step daughter's mother wont see or talk to her (no child support either!) so I understand what you're going through.

  8. Well, I was a military brat for several years and when my parents went thru a divorce, I remember my dad traveling to come visit us once every other month.

Your son's father's visitation would depend on him and how often he is willing to travel. You being the custodial parent is not obligated to travel to bring your son to see his father. The visititation would also be based on whether or not he is about to deploy as well, and how much leave time he has.

  9. You'll have to take it through the courts, but generally, visitation is scheduled around a servicemember's leave.

  10. You can visit him or he can take leave to see you.

  11. Very slim, I have worked for the military and the navy. I only ever got to see my family rarely. Try and keep in touch as much as possible, writing letters to him weekly or so is best with your son, describe how your week has been however do not over-do the subject on how much you miss him, it broke me up when I was told that. Just mention how much you love him, both of you.

    Dan.

  12. Service people get 30 days leave a year.  Figure it out from that.

  13. he be da baby daddy?!
