Im 7th months pregnant and the man i know to be the father is going to fight at all cost to get away without paying child support... he says he is going to refuse a paternity test and if i take him to court he'll say i was sleeping around with several different guys. What's really worrying me though is a month after our son is born he will be leaving for boot camp and probably be sent overseas after that. How would i be able to take him to court if he's in the navy?

  1. if he don't take the test  he is the father until prevent different good luck hope things work out for you and the baby when he go to boot camp it probable a good think.

  2. You still will have time to seek a legal advice, because if he is trying to get out of his responsibility. that is not going to work for him. get that legal help asap. even if he does leave there is still options that you can use.one way or the other he is not getting off that easy. if they have to have the military do it, it can be done. so don't worry focus on your baby and at the same time you get that financial help from him whether he likes it or not. go and enjoy your baby. good luck and god bless you and your baby.

  3. Hopefully, you have his address and phone number at least. Not a cell phone because it could get cut off. But someone in his family's number. When you file for child support a cop has to serve him to appear in court. When someone at his home says where he is they will want to know when he'll be back. So trust me they will track him down before he gets deployed. Boot camp is like 6 weeks so file as soon as you have your son. SO by the time he finishes boot camp they will be waiting to serve him cuz it took me a month before being served after I filed and I had everything about him D.O.B., Social Security #, address, phone #, car description, license plate #, and a picture. Just from being together so long I knew all that they asked for. Even if you don't know all that address and phone number is VERY IMPORTANT. Military will wait if you have any pending civilian court cases so he won't be deployed until it is settled.

  4. wow that's a tough one. have you consulted a lawyer??? if the court is involved he may have no choice abt the paternity test. best of luck!

  5. you will have to start now, setting up a court order for a paternity test, it will cost you though, where i am from, it costs $250 dollars to MAKE the father of a baby take the test, that is AFTER the baby is born. so make sure and set that all up, that way, he isn't all free and keeping his military money to himself, when most of it will go to his child that he fathered. find out the costs of a paternity test in your area.

  6. Don't let this jerk intimidate you.

Your sexual habits do not determine paternity.

Contact the Navy recruiter in your area and report him. The Navy may order him to take the test.

Once he is in the Navy, the Navy will send child support from his paycheck.

Going into the Navy does not mean he is going overseas. It really depends on his job. Besides, most vessels are ported in the States. IF he is attached to a ship, he will go out for several months at a time.
