  1. . . . I'm never drinking milk again.

But, seriously, it's good for parents to sustain their children any way they can. So as bizarre as it sounds, it's definitely decent parenting.

  2. Seems like a culture where fathers value their children and have made time in the way their lives are structured to spend time with their kids.

It also seems like the men aren't slaves to some huge military industrial system that means things of real value ~ such as human relationships ~ are pushed aside in favour of something more interesting or exciting such as beating other men to the top spot.

But hey, inside it could be all arguing over whose turn it is to get up at 2 am, why are there no clean nappies and why is there no beer in the fridge.

    Two very interesting articles, though!

I found the link below, which also has a pic.

    Cheers :-)

  3. the fathers may CLAIM the children are only sucking their nipples - but we know better.

  4. Thank you for posting that. It's fascinating. I was unaware of this. Reminds me of male penguins, who do at least half of the nurturing of the chicks.

Edit: LOVE the collection of mature, insightful posts above me. Gentlemen, you're not doing the stereotype of your gender as immature any favors right now.

Edit: Robert, it IS painful sometimes, even for women, particularly when the baby is first learning. I won't get graphic, but there is blood involved sometimes.

  5. Well its just their equivalent of a dummy or soother isn't it? I remember my daughter trying to get on me, they do that before they realise the difference.

    Thumb down? Silly feminist.

  6. That sounds painful. It hurts most women's nipples to breast feed and they are designed to be sucked and produce milk when sucked!

  7. I have never read such clap trap in my life, male nipples are just matter left over from when they were female in the womb, we all start off female until the Y chromosome kicks in then some us beome males.

  8. Well it won't be long until Western men  start catching up, particularly with the rising obesity epidemic and them developing man-b***s.

I love to squeeze them, they are so cute :)

Hey, women are supposed to accept men the way they are aren't they?

  9. Well, that's interesting.  I always assumed male nipples were designed purely for sexual pleasure.

I don't think it's particularly weird.  Small babies will suck just about anything, and I guess daddy's nipples would be comforting.  I bet they taste better to babies than pacifiers!

  10. Well if your a Guardian reader I imagine basically being a big girl is something to be applauded

  11. Ha ha, you fell for it, it is a hoax!

  12. Forget the nipple thing...discuss the concept of true egalitarian parenting, it is obviously feasible, but dismissed by some, because the only thing worse than actually being female is standing in for one, perish the thought... The whole point of the article hoax or not is that they would not choose to use the labels father and mother and place hierarchical interpretation on the roles, they just get on with it!
