Fathers rights.?

I had a baby about 3 months ago, The father and I are not married or together since the birth. I did not put the fathers name on the birth certificate. I was letting him have supervised visitation with me there until he decided to get the courts involved. Even though we were going through the courts and he isn't paying for anything I still let him see the baby, He had a chance to see him twice in one week but decided not to both times. He hasn't seen him for about 3 weeks now because my lawyer told me not to let him see the baby till closer to the court date which is in august. Is there anyway he can hold that against me in court? saying that I haven't let him see the baby even though when he had the chance he didn't make the effort? HE has accused me several times of not wanting him to be in the child's life which is not correct at all I have done everything to let him see his baby.

  1. your lawyer told you not to let him see it. so he cant use it against you

  2. What is your lawyer's reason for not letting him see his baby??  He must have a good one.

I wouldn't worry too much.  He's not paying for anything, his name is not on the BC, he's getting his stomach pumped...sounds like a winner.  Just talk over your concerns with your lawyer--and go thru the system.

  3. Anything that you are doing that you are second guessing is your conscience telling you it is not right.  Just because you don't want him seeing the baby alone, for obvious reasons, does not mean that you can't take the baby there yourself and let them hang out.  Everything you are doing now is setting a precedent for the rest of that baby's life.  Having a man who is willing to be a part of the baby's life is a great thing.  Don't ruin that.  I speak from experience.  Being gracious is the best thing to do.

  4. you want him to be in your child's life but you wont let him put his name on the birth certificate? explain that to me.

  5. I would definately point that out to your lawyer and see what he says about that section.

  6. techinally his name isnt on the birth certificate so he has no rights to the baby anyways....
