How to troubleshoot Nikon COOLPIX S3?

Hi,

my 6 megapixel Nikon Coolpix S3 has suddenly stopped showing images of what the lens is pointed at on the viewing screen.  It does show pictures that are already on the memory card.  The camera settings are shown on the viewing screen.  The battery and memory card are OK as far as I can tell.  The lens cover is open when the camera is on.  I would be very grateful if you could pinpoint the fault, or what it is that I am getting wrong.

I don't think its possible but Im not 100% certain because I know there is software that will let you hook up your camera to a computer for instant editing. Nikon has a very good support staff,

Than visit a repairing shop.......
