Question:

Faulty Jameson programable thermostat?

Our central air is not blowing cold anymore. We have it set on 69, but it is staying at around 78 in the house. Everything seems to be the same as it normally is. There is a "comfort" button that says it's 78. Does anyone know how to change the comfort level on one of these thermostats? I do not have a manual as this thermostat came with the house. I am also not able to find manuals on-line for any Jameson model. Any ideas?

Post script: We just changed the filter yesterday.

  1. If you have the fan set to auto, and it is blowing but just not "blowing cold anymore" then there is nothing wrong with the thermostat.

Your problem is elsewhere. We would need more information. Is the outdoor unit running all the time or at all?  You could have blown fuse on the condenser unit, no refrigerant, or other problem.

How hot is it outside there? The temp inside means nothing unless we know how hot it is outside. Is it cooling at all, or just not cooling well? Or it could be very hot there and the unit is too small. Lots of possibilities.

If the fan is running then the thermostat is doing it's job and calling for cooling.  It sounds that likely you have a leak and are low on refrigerant or the compressor is going out, it is weak.

    Good Luck.
