Faulty Ram Controller?

Using Memtest86+ V2.01 ram in slot 1 (top slot) is reported as DDR1 CAS 3-2-2-0, in slot 2 (bottom slot) is reported as DDR11 CAS 4-4-4-12, both are FSB 133. The ram is GEIL 1Gb PC2-5300 DDR11-667 CL 5-5-5-15, I am using 2Gb in total. Is there a problem maybe with the memory controller or something else related? Memtest completes tests on both slots without a problem. I am using Windows Vista Home Basic and have intermittant system lockup and have to power off to restart the system, ctrl-alt-del will not work. When lockup happens I will get a problem with the screen picture of multiple lines in three columns down the screen with short black bars 2-3mm thick about 25mm long and 25mm apart from top to bottom and flickering. When this happens the system will not respond to mouse or keyboard and power off by power button will only work.
