Marian Hossa of the Detriot Red Wings.  Although, I have to say I haven't followed him since he was with the Atlanta Thrashers.

my favorite former player was definitely Yzerman

current: Chris Osgood followed by Nicholas Lidstrom, Henrik Zetterberg, and Datysuk....any other Red Wing for the most part  - and pretty much in that order although I like Zetty and Lidstrom equally

Tomas Holmstrom for the present.  He takes more punishment than anyone else in the league with what he does for a living.

All-time:  It's close between Yzerman and Howe.  Howe was before my generation, but he is Mr. Hockey, and Yzerman will always be "The Captain" to me.

Daniel Alfredsson is by far my favorite hockey player because; 1. he participates in community events, 2. he supports many causes, 3. he reminds of my father, 4. he scores and motivates the crowed in the arena, 5. he is a leader, 6. he is the first european born and raised Captain to lead his team to the Stanley cup finals, 7. he takes a paycut tp allow more cap space, 8. he comes back severely injured during the playoff with a torn ACL, EVEN THOUGH DOCTORS TOLD HIM NOT TO.  9. Ottawa Citizens call him God, and now have a new church dedicated to him, The Church of Alfie.

I was really young when these guys played and I always liked Leetch, but I met Adam Graves and he was not only the nicest hockey player I've ever met, but one of the nicest people I've ever met. I also went to an autograph signing of his and the line was out the door in the winter, yet he took the time to speak to every person individually. He's a really nice guy.
