  1. My favorite color is a Buckskin and my favortive marking is a bald face. My favorite breed is a quarter horse. I love the color of a buckskin because its not your usual color that you see every day and that goes for the bald face too. I love quarter horses! They are smart, and very versatile. Not saying that other breeds aren't the same but Quarter horses have this bulldog build to them that I absolutely love!!!

  2. Im sorry you have to make your question a little ore detailed. Right now nobody knows what the question is about...

  3. my favourite colour is pure black, simply because it it beautiful.

my favourite marking is skewbald, because it looks different and odd yet still pretty.

my favourite breed is friesian (or any breed that has furry feet like shires, clysdales, or gypsy vanners) because i love furry feet!

  4. I like Flea bitten greys.  I really don't like a horse to have any markings.  And my favorite breed is an Arabian.  I am not just saying this b/c my horse is like this, b/c I liked this kind before I got him.

  5. Morgans have remarkably few medical conditions present in the breed. There are rare occurrences of equine conditions that are common to most or all other breeds of horses, such as Cushing's disease, a hormonal abnormality commonly encountered in many breeds of horses in advanced age.Morgans are a long-lived, very healthy breed and suffer remarkably few problems with their legs and feet. They are well known for being easy keepers. They need a minimum of grain and grass compared with most other breeds, and they should be monitored to be sure they are not eating too much, especially sweetened feeds. Obesity can lead to health and soundness problems.

The Morgan played an integral role in the development of the west in the 1800s and early 1900s, carrying settlers to their new homes, working the cattle on their cattle ranches, packing their owners into the mountains to hunt, and playing rodeo games on their days off! Things have changed some over the years but these great horses are still doing all of the above! Never getting their share of the publicity, these western working Morgans are excelling at what they do!

Born to be a good carriage horse, the Morgan is upheaded and stylish; has a good sloping shoulder that fits well into a collar, and a short back for strength. He has short cannons with good clean legs and dense, flinty hooves. He has a spirited, yet pleasant disposition with a great desire to please, making him easily trainable for the task at hand. The elegance of the Morgan makes them very popular for carriage pleasure shows and parades.

Morgans were a favored mount by cavalry soldiers in the Civil War. They were sensible under fire. The could march tirelessly all day. They maintained their condition on unpredictable rations. And they were loyal to their riders in all circumstances. Morgans recorded by Civil War stories include Reinzi, Charlemagne, Little Sorrel.

The stamina and spirit of the Morgan, combined with its build and way of traveling, contributed greatly to the formation of other American breeds. These breeds include the Standardbred, Quarter Horse, Tennessee Walking Horse, and American Saddle Horse. The first Morgan Horse Register was published in 1894. Since it's establishment, the registry has listed over 147,000 Morgans with breeders located in all fifty states and overseas.

The Quarter horse stallion Joe Bailey was a son of Headlight Morgan. Jubilee King, a famous Morgan, was also registered under the Quarter Horse name of Yellow Jacket. Yet another well-known Quarter Horse sire, Joe Hancock, was sired by Redolent, a son of the Morgan Red Oak. In 1920 the King Ranch of Kingsville, Texas, purchased the two-year-old colt Lucky from the U.S. Government Farm for the purpose of upgrading the stock horses they were breeding. Countless Morgan mares were purchased from farms in Illinois and turned out on the range in the King Ranch remuda but can not be identified as the offspring they produced where shown as being out of “Morgan Mare” in the original AQHA registry books.

Ninety-percent of today’s Saddlebreds carry Morgan blood. The original list of stallions selected as foundation sires by the National Saddle Horse Breeder’s Association in 1899 included the Morgan stallions Cabell’s Lexington and Coleman’s Eureka. Today, the majority of Saddlebreds carry Morgan blood through the Black Hawk grandsons, Gist’s Black Hawk and Indian Chief; and the great-grandson, Peavine.

Tennessee Walking Horses owe much to early Morgan blood. The foundation sire, Allan F-1, traced to Black Hawk through his dam. His son, Roan Allen F-38, was also out of a mare tracing to Gifford Morgan.

The early Morgan contributed bottom, stamina, substance and purity of gait at the trot to the lines of the American Standardbred, enhancing the speed later given to the breed by the Hambletonian stallion.

I gave everyone a thumbs up! Looks like the Mud Duck of a troll hit! LOL

  6. Favorite color would have to be duns. I love the primitive markings. Favorite markings...Ah, don't really have a favorite, but I do like a horse with some crome. My favorite breed depends on what discipline. Fer western pleasure and reining I prefer a nice AQHA. If I'm doing dressage Iprefer a Holstein or warmblood type. I don't really like thoroughbreds but only because they can be difficult to keep weight on well.

  7. Paint, white face because they are cute

  8. twh sorrel &paints there gorgeous

its about horses, breed colorn such,,,,its posted in the horse section

  9. my fav color would probably be dapple grey, marking a big fat blaze all the way down the face, my fav breed is ALWAYS going to be Quarter Horse, all of this because i ride QH and LOVE THEM, i love there movement, i like dapple grey because it has a mixture of grey, white, and black, and for the marking i like the marking because its looks really nice on a horse it think!!!

  10. My "ideal" looking horse would have to be a tie between a nice dark liver chestnut Quarter Horse with a star-strip-snip and a few socks and a dark dapple palomino Quarter Horse with little white markings or none.

EDIT: Haha, looks like a troll was here!

  11. i love palominos they look so graceful! also thoroughbreds and clydesdales.when i was little  i used to call clydesdales gentle giants

  12. well. i LOVE bays and snips. probably coz the first horse i absolutly got heaps of affection and love from was a bay and had a snip.

but i think its sooo cute

and i like hanoverians, tehy are proud big creaters and they love to jump

  13. my favorite color is bay b/c i love how their legs gradually turn to black and the difference in their coat compared to the mane and tail...

i love blazes the best, i'm not sure why...it just looks soo cute

and i love appaloossas, b/c of their sparatic coloring and sweet dispositions

i'm biased to most of these choices b/c my favorite horse at the barn is bay and half appaloossa (like no spots whatsoever)

  14. liver chestnuts ,all four stockings and blaze face or,golden palominos with the same markings , paints and quarter horses are my choice,i love chrome,on them

  15. I really like dark bay horses, I just think that coloring is beautiful. Also, the dark chocolate coat with flaxen mane/tail of the rocky mountain horse/pony is a very beautiful and unique combination as well.

Markings-blazes and socks that go up to the hock. Especially when the blazes are splotchy and splattery, as if the horse got some white paint thrown on it. I love it!

My favorite breeds are definitely thoroughbreds and friesians.

I love thoroughbreds because they are so atheltic and just overall nice looking. They're tall, sleek, run fast, jump high, and have tons of energy. Friesians...well, need I say more? So elegant and gentile!

  16. I'm quite partial to greys, but at the moment i own none *tear*...my paddocks are over run with chestnuts....yippee! I have a gorgeous liver chest overo though, he's got awesome markings.  massive stunning belly patches and baldy face. breed would have to be Aussie Stock horse for versatility and stamina, but QH for rodeo and great temperament, quiet as and i like their solid look.

  17. i love bright (!) bays with one white sock (not too high) and the black on the legs go high and the black around the ears just around the edges  (aka my horse!)

  18. Well my fav color would have to be black, all black. My fav marking would have to be any kind of white on the face and legs, my fav breed would have to be a TWH and a Standardbred.

I own a sorrel TB with a white face and 3 white socks and 1 white stocking. So I really any color, and favor all the breeds but everything above is what I would prefer but beggers cant be choosers

  19. paint, big stripe and three white stckings, clydesdale (lol) because i think those markings are really nice and clydeys have the SMOOTHEST canter.....and other gaits too (they are just like a big rocking horse)

  20. I love bays with lots of chrome. My favorite breed is probably a Hanovarian or a Han/TB cross. For ponies, I love roans (any color) and I am partial to Welsh ponies.

  21. Color: Bay

    Marking: Stars and Socks

    Breed: Thouroughbred

  22. I am completely drawn into horses that are very dark in color ( Dark Bays or Black ) or very light in color ( Creams, Palominos, White ) Or Paints with a lot of white Example: Medicine Hat Paints.

Not sure why I just love the colors. My favorite breed would have to be Draft horses or Draft horse Crosses.

They are HUGE, very gentle, very forgiving, good tempered ( if full Draft ) and great to ride and jump. Love them :)
