  1. For an event like this you'll want something you can make ahead and serve several people. I like Tres Leche. Here is a website for it http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/...

Another idea is Mexican Wedding Cakes which are actually cookies. You can probably find this recipe in your standard cookbook.

  5. My friend made a cinnamin-like pudding which really went well with all the other foods when we had our Spanish party.

  6. Polvorones de Naranja (Orange Dusts)

    1/2 c shortening

    1/2 c butter

    1/2 c sugar

    2 large egg yolks

    1/4 c orange juice

    Zest from 2 oranges

    4 c all purpose flour

    Powdered sugar for dusting

In a large bowl beat the butter and shortening until light and fluffy with an electric mixer.

    Add sugar, mix thoroughly.

Add yolks, orange juice, orange zest, mix thoroughly.

Fold flour in gently with a spatula.

Lightly dust a work surface with flour, and roll cookie dough  to a 3/4" thickness.

Cut out 2 1/2" circles using a floured cookie or biscuit cutter - you can flour the top of a large drinking glass if you don't have a cookie or biscuit cutter - and place on a greased baking sheet.

Re-roll the scraps and continue until all dough is used.

Bake 25 minutes or until the cookies begin to brown lightly around the edges.

Cool cookies on a rack, and sprinkle with powdered sugar once completely cooled.
