Favorite onion dip?

Question

I have a good, simple recipe for chip dip (Lipton onion soup packet + sour cream), but I'm wondering if you have any other suggestions. Recipes or store-bought dip suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!

I haven't had that dip in 25 yrs:)...with ripple potato chips:) ......

CON QUESO

1-2 8-oz. packages of cream cheese, softened (depends how creamy you want it)

2 cans Rotel tomatoes (I like with jalapenos)

8 oz. shredded cheese

      Melt all together; keep warm .... Dip tortilla chips

How about A great Ranch Dip

2 tbs dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing

1 cup mayo

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp back pepper

Mix all ingredients and let it sit in fridge for at least an hour.

(This is the ranch that Outback puts on their french fry appetizer)

My best friend makes a similar dip and brings it to all her parties whether she hosts or is a guest.  Everyone always requests that she be the one to bring the dip.  Basically, add a package of cream cheese to what you already have listed (Lipton onion soup mix & sour cream).  It comes out really light and fluffy and actually makes twice as much, so if it's just for you, you may want to decrease the ingredients in half.  Make sure you allow the cream cheese to get to room temp so it can be mixed easier and be smooth.  Or, you can cheat and microwave it a little at a time until it's nice and smooth, but be careful so as not to burn it.  Hope that helps!

how original.... nice job. Anyways... try dicing up green onions and them to sour cream... a bit of fresh garlic, salt and pepper
