Favorite thing about De la Hoya?

There are a lot of reasons why you may not like him, but I just read the headline that he wants to fight Floyd and Cotto this year before ending his career...like Sugar Ray, two of the best things about him - for me - is that his cache in the sport allows him to make any fight he wants. This allows him to fight only big names, because even if he loses he can just have another mega fight, and no fighter can really hold out for more money because you CAN'T make anymore fighting anyone, anywhere else than Oscar.

He can be knocked for his style, hype, all that, approach to fights, whatever you want - but what you have to love is that he has always MADE (maybe not performed the way people want) the fights fans want to see him in.

I like him because he fights EVERYONE. He doesn't duck guys that are bad matchups for him. He even went up to 160 to fight Hopkins. Doubt you will see Mayweather stepping into the ring with Pavlik! The ONLY knock on Oscar that I have is that he seems to run out of gas after about 8 rounds. He didn't do that when fighting at 140 and below. Perhaps he should have stayed at the lower weights?

My favorite thing about Oscar is that he will fight ANYONE. He's never scared, gotta love that about him. The only knock is that sometimes he does stupid things that cost him his fights. Like for example, in his fight with Mayweather, he stopped using his jab, his most important tool in his arsenal and he just stops using it. That was the most effective punch Oscar had against him and he just dropped it. Stupid things like that kind of irritate me. His answer in his interview to why he stopped using his jab was, and I quote "It just wasn't the night of the jab"...............................That got me so upset. His jab would have made a h**l of a lot of difference of the outcome in that fight. It would have been a draw, or he could've won. Little things like that really get me upset. But he's still a great fighter.

his wife ! wow! besides that ,his fights are always interest getting,whether hes fighting someone you hope he loses against or someone you hope he beats ,there always seems to be some controversy with the decision,unless he gets a spectacular ko his dislikers will say he should have lost ,and as long as his fights are somewhat close his backers will always say he was cheated if he doesnt get the decision.
