  1. I bought a hybrid and then I bought a bike.

    Making my own soap, shaving cream, and other personal care products.

    Using non-toxic cleaning products.

    Making my own bread there are so many different recipes and it's so much better then store bought.

    Making beeswax candles from local beeswax.

    The taste of local honey.

    Buying locally processed chocolate.

    Buying raw milk from a local dairy.

    Reading more and watching TV less.

    Not using the dryer instead using a drying rack.

    Candlelight.

    Cooking more.

    Baking even more.

    Shopping for hidden treasures on Ebay, Craigslist, Freecycle, Goodwill, Salvation Army and lots of other thrift stores.

    Taking shorter showers to save water.

    Buying more houseplants to improve air quality.

    Starting a garden to grow our own food and flowers.

    Using less plastic by shopping from the bulk bins.

    Using a reusable grocery bag for all my shopping needs.

    Checking out books from the library instead of purchasing from the bookstore.

    Organic, fair trade, local.

    Getting out in nature and hiking, biking, kayaking, climbing and taking pictures.

    Spending more time with loved ones and less time watching TV or surfing the net.

    Using a stainless steel straight razor or safety razor.

    Netflix instead of going out to the movies or buying movies all the time.

    Store data on flash drives instead of burning onto CDs or DVDs.

    Minimize use of plastic even though it says it is recyclable it really isn't.

  2. I walk to work instead of getting a ride 2-3 times a week.

    I use all natural/earth friendly cleaning/laundry products.

    I switched all the lightbulbs in my house to CFL's.

    I keep alot of plants in my house to help keep the air clean.

    I shut off the water when im brushing my teeth.

    I only flush the toilet when its..."necessary".

    I open up all the window shades so I dont have to turn on any lamps during the day.

    I recycle like a mad-man.

    I pick up garbage around my street.

    I bus around the city instead of driving.

    I turn off electronics when they are not in use.

    I compost.

    I grow my own vegetables and fruits.

    I bought an Energy Star laptop.

    I bought reusable grocery totes and use them everytime.

    I'm sure ill think of more later!

  3. Plant more trees, use less fossil fuel, recycle, composting waste food and plant material, biogas, ride a cycle when you can.

  4. Go green? hmm... well sometimes when I burn plastic it emits green flame... and I love smashing green frogs up against walls... also the gas can that I use to fill up my SUV with is green...

    = ) All fear the mighty global warming!! oh wait...isn't it really cold out? oh let's just call it global climate change.

    ah what ever; I'll just let the biased media think for me.

  5. I don't use a toilet I go behind the barn.

    I heat my house with junk tires and used motor oil.

    I have an exercise bike hooked to a generator which runs my computer.

    I eat rabbits, deer,turkeys, beaver, snakes and other animals that show up in my back yard. It even saves me a trip to the supermarket.

    I just wanted to add as a mother of four.We of course teach our children in the way we live our lives day to day.

    But a  great lesson for any child is to take them to a landfill in the high heat of summer.And to explain to them, when they throw something away,it really dosen't go away.

    Oh and "trolls" are very helpful in the compost pile.Just add enough browns to even out the "bushes"....then it might be good for your soil(soul)....whatever
