Favourite restaurant in Melbourne for group booking?

I'm looking for a restaurant in Melbourne's inner suburbs (Richmond/Fitzroy/Carlton or even Camberwell) that would be great for a dinner with about 12 people. Preferably somewhere with some atmosphere, that has a bar too. Something along the lines of Vegie Bar in Brunswick St (but they don't take group bookings). Any suggestions?

There is a site called myFunctions.com.au where you send your event details and they will help find the perfect venue for you. Best of all it's a free service! Works really well - I've used it a couple of times!

Alternatively, have you considered a japanese teppanyaki bar?  Generally you book a teppanyaki table which has a barbeque plate in the middle of it. The customers usually sit all the way around it, and the chef cooks the food in front of you in a very entertaining way, and they cater for all tastes including vegetarian if you wish.

How about a Greek Tavern with dancing?

White Village Greek Tavern at 582 Glenhuntly Road, Elsternwick.  This is one of the reviews that I have found about it.

THE FOOD WAS GREAT,STARTS OF DIPS FRIED CHEESE DOLMATIS AND WHITE BAIT, SEAFOOD AND MEAT WITH SOMETHING FOR THE ONE VEGETARIAN AS WELL. SWEETS AND COFFEE ALL FOR $35.00 WHAT A BARGIN!!!!
