The Borussia Monchengladbach manager has insisted that it will be very difficult for the side to emulate last season’s success in the current campaign.
The Foals finished fourth last season in the Bundesliga behind the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Schalke. The side qualified for the UEFA Champions League play-offs, but was eventually beaten by Dynamo Kiev. Gladbach

Lucien Favre, who managed the side to huge success last season, has admitted that it will be very difficult for the team to end the season in the top four. He insisted that his team cannot afford to be complacent and will have
to work very hard to get the results throughout the course of the season.

“I can say with certainty that we cannot play the outstanding football we did last season. It is very, very dangerous for us to think that we can,” the boss was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, new additions Granit Xhaka and Luuk de Jong are ready to fight for the Champions League spot and are aiming for a successful campaign.
“I've been playing with Basel in the Champions League. And I can tell you how awesome those nights are. I want to be there with Gladbach,” Xhaka added.
