The Foals’ manager has expressed his delight on signing a new deal with the club and is targeting a successful UEFA Champions League campaign.

Lucien Favre signed a new contract with Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this month and extended his stay at the club for another two years. The manager’s current deal with the Foals was set to finish at the end of next season
however, the club put an end to any speculation by offering him a revised deal.
Favre insisted that he believes in the club’s philosophy which is why he extended his stay. The boss claimed that he has been with the side since last February and has worked hard with his team to bring them to the UEFA Champions
League. He admitted that the players are keen to achieve more and there is immense potential in the current lot.
The former Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 boss added that there was no question in leaving the side and denied the rumours linking him to a different club. He admitted that he has had a plan with Monchengladbach because of which the side is in
Europe and leaving the club would have put an end to it.
“I like it in Gladbach, I wouldn't have extended otherwise. My basic task is to make the players better, individually and collectively. It's down to me to develop their potential. Clubs lack continuity and therefore a philosophy
to develop in the mid and long-term. Without continuity you can't plan to win the Champions League. It would be purely coincidental,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, sporting director http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Max-c24993 Eberl is ecstatic that Favre has committed his future to the club. He insisted that the manager has brought a lot of success to the side in time he has been at the club and Gladbach would
never have wanted him to go.
“It was very important for us to extend with Lucien at the start of the season. He is exactly the right coach for Borussia and we're happy to be able to continue on the path we've been on with him,” Eberl added.
Monchengladbach will take on Hoffenheim in their opening fixture on August 24.
