Silver's article on Favre (Blame Favre for the ugly divorce) is amature journalism at BEST. How does Silver know what has transpired, and why is Mikey Silver credible to cast stones at Favre? Michael doesn't know ANYTHING about what has happened behind closed doors or in the past. Here's an idea, Mikey, don't try to build your career by shooting your mouth with arguments that cannot be proven (or disproven). Instead, grow a pair and start doing some "real" journalism--if you know what that means. Seriously, your last article about Favre almost made me switch to Google and I still might--the more I ponder your shoddy column the more I'm tempted to dump Yahoo sports--this article was useless.

  1. if he wanted to play retiring was a bad move

  2. I do not know who Mikey Silver is.  I agree with your general reasoning. The only thing about Favre that could be criticized is his premature conference call to announce his retirement.  But, I am sure this Mr. Silver has no idea what is like to be an athlete and have to find another life.  At age 38.  Sport writers are blood suckers in my view.  The ex-jocks who have cut up and knocked out should be making the comments on who is this or that.
